Dream Home Extension Project in Kinsealy, Dublin
The GT Carpentry team recently completed this home renovation project in the lovely area of Kinsealy, Dublin.
Better layout, more space and new office
This family home was in need of a better layout, more space for the kids and for entertaining, as well as a second-floor office. The project involved a home extension to the back of the property which required planning permission, a bay window to the front, and a second-floor extension that the client had been approved for a couple of years prior to the project.
The client had their drawings and interiors decided already, and our team worked to bring their vision to life.
Bringing their vision to life
The project involved demolition, ground works, extension, and shell of the building in the first seven weeks. The next six weeks were dedicated to electrics, plumbing, plastering, insulation, sliding rear doors, downstairs toilet and washbasin, internal sliding doors for space-saving, and a mixture of exterior brickworks and cement and render.
Finishing touches
The project also included a flat roof and roof window for the kitchen island area, a utility room, repositioned fuse board, maintained A-rating, bay window, feature walls, lighting, tiling, back garden, bike shed, retaining garden wall, finishing touches, and underfloor heating.
The stand-out features of this project included the the brickwork, underfloor heating as well as the stunning back door and windows of the property.
Despite the tight site and the hassle of deliveries, collections, and skip drop-offs, our team did its best to accommodate the neighbours. The project took 14 weeks from start to finish, and it was a real bonus to work with such a decisive customer who knew exactly what they wanted. Seeing the project come together with the kitchen, window company, bringing it to life with electrics and lighting, and underfloor heating was truly a remarkable experience.
