This project involved a complete renovation of a 2 bedroom, second-floor apartment in Sandymount in Dublin.

Getting Back On The Market

This apartment is a rental property. However, it had been left idle due to being in poor condition, as you can see from the first several photos.

To get this apartment back on the market and suitable for a comfortable living, the GT Carpentry team were enlisted to give it a complete renovation.

This included removing the rubbish and discarded materials and cleaning and treating the apartment’s surfaces before the renovation could begin.

Apartment Renovation

The apartment was renovated from top to bottom, including:

  • insulation
  • plastering
  • rewiring
  • reflooring
  • skirtings
  • doors
  • kitchen installation
  • tiling
  • windows
  • painting and decorating
  • and the installation of an electric panel radiator heating system

From the finished result, it’s clear to see that the property now has a higher rental value, not to mention a better quality of life for tenant.

Higher BER Rating

The energy costs of the apartment are also lower. It has a higher BER rating post-renovation due to the new heating system, insulation and windows.
