This attic conversion in a new housing estate in Balbriggan, Dublin is particularly distinctive as it’s the only attic of its type in the country. Despite many of the residents in this area looking for attic conversions, they can’t be safely completed on these types of homes by most contractors. But at GT Carpentry, we love a challenge, and worked closely with a highly experienced engineer to create a fantastic new attic space for these home owners. And it’s the first of its kind!

Attic Conversion

The couple who own the home were working from home and looking for an office space that they could call their own – somewhere they could go and work and have their own space, without being on top of their family.

The GT Carpentry team are delighted with this attic conversion which gives them their new office complete with a lounge area and en suite. The project included a bathroom installation, tiling, new floors, sanitary ware, complete plastering, electrics and lighting – the works!

It also included fitting a new staircase, joining it seamlessly into the existing staircase, and electrical heaters that can be controlled via an app. Motorised Velux windows were installed to bring in light and can be opened in sync or individually – great for year-round use!

How long did it take?

This attic conversion took just 6 weeks from start to finish and with such a new property, kept in such great condition, the team made sure to be meticulously clean through the entire process.
