Garden Office & Decking Refurbishment, Howth

Project Description:

This project involved refurbishment of a garden office and decking are in a home in Howth, Dublin.

The garden area is an incredible hidden hideaway with stunning vistas but had fallen to disuse over time and needed to be reclaimed by the household.

The deck was over 15 years old and had become loose and unsafe, and the timber framing of the garden office had rotted and allowed leaks to develop.

Refurbishment

Rotted timers were removed and replaced with treated spruce decking. Original posts that were still viable were assessed and treated with a spray preservative.

The garden office unit itself had significant water damage so the damaged areas were removed and replaced, ready for painting.

Unique Location

The unique, hidden location of the project meant that the team had to contend with difficult access points for materials as well as steep inclines.

The resulting refurbishment and new decking gave the household full, safe access to this hidden hideaway again. The incredible views can be now enjoyed from comfort and it is an excellent location for work, relaxation and entertaining once again.

Time Taken

This project was completed over 4 days, spread out due to adverse weather conditions at this time of year.
