Our favourite part of the job is watching how our renovations change our clients’ lives. The difference that a few weeks can make to an entire family’s day-to-day life is incredible.

Check out how this kitchen was transformed into a multi-purpose space for spending time together, dining, entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the garden. This kitchen really is the heart of the home!

Home Extension

This project was completed in a family home in Lucan. The kids are still living at home and the family were looking for a bigger kitchen space to sit and spend time together and entertain guests comfortably. They were at the stage in their lives when they were ready to progress the home to better suit their lives.

The GT Carpentry team were more than happy to oblige, completely renovating the downstairs of the home from the hall door to the extension into the back garden.

Complete Renovation

The team removed the existing windows, resized the internal doors, and installed new bi-fold doors. The downstairs was completely rewired, replumbed, reskinned, and insulated.

The under-stairs toilet and utility rooms were both renovated, new velux windows were installed along with a new alarm system being fitted.

A lot of preparation work went into the floors of the home. Previous work carried out over the years meant the floor was on different levels so it all had to be stripped down with a new surface poured for the tiles to level it out. And what a result! The client chose their tiles – huge 4ft by 2ft tiles that give the whole space a luxurious feel.

Kitchen Renovation

A brand new kitchen was installed, with new appliances and stone quartz countertops. A 4-in-1 tap unit was installed to provide instant hot water as well as purified water.

The team took in the height and shape of the ceiling of the extension to give it that extra feeling of space and the new widened back door brings the garden right into the home.

The result is more than just a kitchen, it’s a multi-purpose room for dining, entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the garden – and it’s a much nicer place to spend time together.

What a transformation!

This project was completed in 8 weeks from start to finish (due to nationwide lead times on supplies).
